Read ‘Em and Weep

One of the things I’ve been working on lately is stepping outside of my comfort zone. Surprisingly – it has been a LOT easier than I ever imagined it would be! 🙂 I’ve always been one to jump at experiences whenever they’ve been presented to me. That’s nothing new. I’m just finding that I’m noticing different experiences these days and I have to go about them differently. This is OK though – this is where stepping outside my comfort zone has been coming into play.

I’ve almost lost count of all the interesting things I’ve been doing lately. I met another author that I admire. I joined two local groups that cover issues that interest me. I went hiking and I plan to do a lot more of that. Most importantly, I’ve been getting out and meeting people – socializing!

Ah, but when I heard about my most recent opportunity I stopped. I can’t do this! No, TOO far outside of my comfort zone. Too strange of a place. Too many people. But… but…

But I HAD to!! I had to push myself to go. Would I regret it if I didn’t go? Oh hell YES I would.

Am I glad I went. You bet I am!

I have no idea why THIS Meat Loaf song is the one I’ve had stuck in my head the last few days. It’s my second favorite of his and I would highly recommend you scroll down to listen if you aren’t familiar with it. It’s EXCELLENT! So powerful and emotional. So appropriate for how I’m feeling these days too. That’s not at all a bad thing. 🙂

“It’s there in my eyes and coming straight from my heart
It’s running silent and angry and deep
It’s there in my eyes and it’s all I can say
c’mon look at me and read ’em and weep”
